New Year Resolutions 2023! Easy Tips to Achieve Your Goals

Hi friends, HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Let’s talk about new year goals and resolutions. Typically with the start of the new year there are feelings of a fresh start and wanting to improve certain aspects of your life. I’m one of those people – if you are too let me know in the comment section. 

This year I’m looking for my life to flow with ease. Nothing to be “difficult” or strenuous because the foundation and all systems I’ve created are already in place. To make things easy on myself I’ve set 3 top goals to achieve for 2023. 

  1. Be consistent on Youtube. What that looks like for me is showing up at least once a week until it becomes a habit. My objective is to grow my audience to at least 1000 subscribers too start. I’m looking to build a community of people who enjoy living life to the fullest on their own terms whether it be through travel, trying new restaurants, or doing different activities in their home town. I’m looking to connect with my fellow beauty and skincare enthusiasts, also my fashionistas! The world is hard sometimes and I want my channel to be a spot on the internet to be your place of joy, and encourages you to continually grow to the best version of you.
  2. Be consistent with strength training and doing it 3 times a week. If you’ve been following my Instagram stories you’d know that last year I became obsessed with Pilates. I still am, but to the determinant of also lifting weights. Which I love to do but didn’t make a priority. It’s a priority now! I’ve lost some of my physical strength and am looking to get that back along with some more muscle definition. 
  3. Diving into my hobbies. I work a lot and sometimes don’t know when to chill. Near the end of the year I started reading and forgot how much I loved it! It’s such a relaxing activity that lets you either escape or learn something new and I’m looking forward to making that and any other hobby that brings joy more into the year. I’ll start by reading a few pages at least every other day. 

So I’m sharing all these goals but what are actual things that I can do to make them a reality? From my experience (and I’m saying this based on completing all but 2 goals last year out of 7). There are a few key steps to consider. Keep in mind long lists aren’t realistic so I’m keeping this nice and short with the top 4. 

  1. The first one is to set goals. Don’t only think about what you want to achieve but also write it down. I can’t express how important it is to write things down. It forces you to become committed and accountable. Have an honest conversation with yourself on what you’d like to achieve and why. It doesn’t have to be complicated and don’t feel the stress of having to do the same thing of what others are trying to achieve. Whatever your goals are make sure they are something that is aligned with who you are as a person, your beliefs, and your mission of what you’d like to achieve in life. Doing this will make the process of setting goals easier for you to not only identify, but to also follow. 
  2. After setting your goals organize your life. That means create a routine schedule that is realistic to your lifestyle where you’ll be able to work on your goals consistently in order to achieve them. Be detailed in how, and what you’ll do to stay organized. Identify key activities that you need to do.  It sounds simple but its not. It takes commitment but also routine prioritized actions. Make your goals a priority in your daily life to help you be consistent and to stay on track. 
  3. Take care of your mental and physical health. You must be sure to take care of you. Take care of you. Nothing in life can move forward positively unless you feel good both mentally and physically. Doing this looks different for everyone but at the basis start by eating a healthy diet, working out regularly, getting enough sleep. And since we’re in the new age – reduce your social media use! I promise you the posts will still be there tomorrow. Personally I found that when I do all of that not only do I feel great – but it also reduces stress because I have better mental tools to do so since I’m so protective of my peace. 
  4. Be patient with yourself. Noting happens overnight and sometimes life is hard and we have to restart. That’s ok. Be kind too yourself with grace and don’t be afraid of having to try again – as many times as you need. There will be days when you are frustrated, confused, annoyed – heck even angry at your goals and what it is you are or are not doing or what you think you are or are not doing enough or too little of. Trust me you are not the only one with these thoughts. It’s, ok – be kind and patient to you, the same way you are with others. Work on your goals, and have fun with it. We only have one life to live and it should be filled with as much joy as possible.
