Life update! New job, scaling my skincare brand, and getting fit

Cheers to the new year! Hello 2022! I’m so looking forward to all that this year has in store. I hope this year is all that you hope it to be. Excited to share that I’m back to blogging. It’s been awhile since my last post and it’s great to connect again. The past year, actually the past few years have felt like a whirlwind; with the pandemic, and other life events and challenges it has been a lot.

During the late summer of  last year I started a new job! It was a position that I had been interested in for awhile, and during my “off time” I was cultivating my skills in order to be prepared for it. For those that don’t know, applying to a new job is not easy. It takes a long time (for some), and requires you to be diligent and patient. When I was looking for a new job, I was sure to be very intentional with where, and with whom I was going to work for. One of my main goals for a new job was to ensure that I was in a new environment that was welcoming, kind, and allowed me to grow. Money was no longer the only factor and I’m pleased to say that after careful research, and interviews I found the perfect fit for me!

During that time, as you can imagine, it was a very busy season of life so I decided to take a hiatus from instagram, and quite frankly, from social media as a whole. Social media was becoming too stressful and not a fun environment so I had to step away. One of my goals for stepping away was to re-live life so to speak intentionally, and not with a focus of picking up my camera. I wanted to go back to being fully present in life. Also, I wanted to make sure that I remained focused on my own personal interests instead of sitting and watching others. It was one of the best decisions that I’ve made, and I strongly suggest you try out a hiatus from social media too if you are able.

Of course I am back on social media but things now are totally different. Social media comes second if not last. I pick up my camera to post, or to see what’s going on in the Internet world once I’m done with everything else that occurs in my real life. And the best part of this change is that I feel so much more creative and I enjoy social media again. It’s a fun part of my life once again and I’m happy about that.

The world is still unfortunately in a pandemic. My thoughts and prayers are with all those who have been affected. The pandemic of course had an impact on my life and had me slow down and take stock of what was important. Also, it did of course cause me stress and I dealt with the stress the best way I could. One of those ways included being less active – I don’t regret it because it was the way that helped me cope with the times and multiple lockdowns in the city that I live in (over 2). With that being said, once the new year began I had to implement a lifestyle change so i could get back to feeling like myself. That meant, cleaning up my diet, working out, and getting rest. It has been such a refreshing and freeing experience to be focusing back on my health and I love it here. Be sure to follow my instagram account so you can be inspired and encouraged. Lastly, let’s talk about my skincare brand Skin Sezson! I’ve been doing a lot of strategizing with this brand when it comes to marketing it, and the products that are sold. As part of growing my company I decided to hire administrative help and a graphic designer. It was a great choice on my part as it has provided me with the opportunity to take a step back on some of the work that is required to run a business. Experts were hired to help me grow and improve my brand and  I’m looking forward to all of the positive results that are to come as a result of it.

For this year, two of my main goals are to focus on building Skin Sezson and to improve my health and fitness. I’m so thankful that I was able to accomplish my main goals last year and am looking forward to doing the same in 2022! Let me know in the comment section below what’s a goal you have your eye on.
