For those who don’t know, I started my own luxury skincare brand called Skin Sezson (www.skinsezson.com) almost a year ago. I launched my e-commerce skincare business with 3 key foundational organic body care products that includes a body wash, sugar body scrub, and moisturizing body cream. Products come in scented and unscented options to cater to your skincare and self-care needs. As a new entrepreneur it has been a wild ride running a business during a pandemic but I can say that it was made a bit easier thanks to the Boss Up Your Brand course developed by Doni Brown at the start of my journey.
Doni Brown is a well known e-commerce funnel expert who helps businesses grow their brand. You can find her on Instagram and on YouTube. One of her keys skills is teaching how to create funnels and systems in your business that allows your customers to journey and learn about your brand in order to trust you, your products, and to make consistent purchases (in my opinion and from my own personal experience of implementing her teaching to my business).
I chose her course because at the start of my entrepreneurial journey I knew absolutely nothing about starting and running a business and needed support in not only setting it up, but also getting the brand name Skin Sezson out there so skincare lovers would know where to purchase skincare products.
Full disclosure, at this point I’ve gone through this course about 2 times and that was done to make sure I learned and applied her teachings. To participate in her course you have to log into her educational platform and then you’ll have access to the video teachings along with things such as workbooks. Her 5 week course is currently made up of 8 detailed modules that walk you through successfully setting up, launching, marketing, and maintaining your business. Each module has individual detailed lessons for you to learn from. Each module varies in length; some are as short as about 10 minutes up to a duration of 1 hour. They range from a mix of mental, personal encouragement and motivational modules, to detailed, actionable processes and steps for you to implement. She tells you what to do and what not to do, and how to do it better. Doni shares useful apps to consider adding to your online business, tangible business strategies, and solves problems you may have or not have though the teachings of each module.
Doni is candid in her teachings, and doesn’t hold back! In her program you’ll learn things from identifying holes in your business, to developing a solid marketing plan, identifying your target market, building a profitable website, SEO, and content development with actual templates to use. It took me over 5 weeks to complete all the lessons because I wanted to make sure I learned and applied each lesson. The best part is that she also holds coaching calls where you are able to ask direct questions that you may have, and learn from other participants. There is also a Facebook group where you can connect with Doni and classmates/members of the association. All of this makes it easy to understand and to grow your business.
Each teaching was delivered in a friendly, easy to understand tangible way, and in a way that I could use to build my skincare brand. That’s what helped me make over $1000 on my launch day, and it has continued to help me make sales.
