Valentine’s Day at home

It’s the month of love. Valentine’s Day is  around the corner and for some this is the time to show those you love how much you care about them! This year may be a bit different for some when it comes to celebrating Valentine’s Day as celebrations will be occurring from the comfort of home. If you’re celebrating from home, it doesn’t mean that it can’t be romantic or fun. View some affordable at home Valentine’s Day tips below!

  • Decorate your home. Visit your local dollar store, or any store that you enjoy shopping at and pick up some affordable decorations to set the tone of love. Think about choosing decor that has a colour of red, pink, and/or white. This will help to align with traditional Valentine’s Day colour themes.
  • Create a DIY spa experience. We all love feeling pampered; decompress and relax together by enjoying a spa day at home. Grab your face masks, body butters and oils! Light some candles, play some music, and pamper yourselves with luxurious skincare. If you’re looking for some product ideas check out my brand Skin Sezson on skinsezson.com – specifically the body care products in the scent Rich Life which will leave you both feeling like royalty.
  • Cook your favourite meal. This may take a bit of planning or time but think about cooking a meal that both you and your partner will enjoy. You can make it on your own, or even better – make it together!
  • Write a note or letter. Sounds simple to do but when is the last time you professed your love to your love? Sit down and take time to write a note sharing all the ways in which you appreciate your partner and what you hope for in the future.
  • Make a playlist and dance! One of the easiest ways to let loose is to dance the night away. Transform your space into a dancefloor – clear away any furniture that may be in the way and get jiggy with it. Don’t forget to set out some snacks, drinks, and dim the lights so you can feel like you’ve transported to another space.
  • Play some games. Bring out your board games and have a night of fun and giggles. A little competition adds some excitement to a night in.
  • Dress up! When is the last time you’ve gotten dolled up? Find an outfit that you feel most fancy in and step into your living room looking and feeling fierce as if you’re off to a luxe restaurant or party. Then set up your camera and take some pictures to capture the moment.

Great ideas for a fun Valentine with your mate.
Being single, I’m giving myself a pedicure as I sing along to my playlist. Shall be a good Valentine’s Day!
