Using social media as a new entrepreneur

As a new entrepreneur who has yet to launch their products for sale, social media has been a great tool to get the word out about my cosmetics skin care brand, Skin Sezson. If you are new here, hello! My name is Eseeri and about a month ago I announced to the world that I had started a company called Skin Sezson and would be selling products soon. Shop now on skinsezson.com

You may be wondering, why would I make such a large announcement without having anything for sale?! It may be a risky move for some, but for me it was very strategic. As an entrepreneur it’s very important to build relationships. Having a connection with the public (potential customers) is important for the Skin Sezson brand. I’m not only interested in selling a product; I’m also interested in developing products that help people feel better both physically and mentally.

Using social media as a new entrepreneur is a great tool to meet people who are interested in the same things as your company. This helps customers be exposed to your brand, align with the brand message, mission, and vision, and in turn this creates a sense of trust. I’ve been using social media for Skin Sezson to share more information (who and what it’s about), and to connect with fellow skin care lovers. It’s been such a fun time chatting with the new followers across all Skin Sezson social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter – follow us @skinsezson) and sharing in the joy of the upcoming launch.

If you are a new entrepreneur see below tips that I’ve used so far to slowly but surely gain more attention (and followers) for the Skin Sezson brand.

  • Be consistent. Show up consistently across all social media channels.
  • Add value. Give something to your followers that can be used as useful information. For example, if you are a skin care brand share skin care tips.
  • Get creative! Don’t just post a picture; switch things up and post pictures, videos, and memes. Capture your audience attention in different ways that are fun and informative. Using Instagram is a great and easy tool to do this because you can utilize Instagram stories to quickly post videos.
  • Comment back. If your follower (or not a follower – but especially a follower), leaves a comment on your page be sure to like, and comment back where appropriate. Don’t be rude; connect by commenting back to those who show interest in your content.
  • Tell a story. It’s one thing to put up content. But does it make sense? Tell a story with your social media posts. Your story can be relatable, informative, or both. It has to be something that your audience/target audience would be interested in.
  • Be authentic. People know when you aren’t yourself. Building a connection requires trust. Be yourself so your audience can feel connected to you and your brand.
