Sephora Eye Love Palette

Hi beauties! In this post I’ll be sharing with you one of matte eyeshadow palettes from Sephora that I’ve recently been obsessed with. This is the Sephora Eye Love Palette that I won in a giveaway from my favourite Canadian beauty editor Dave Lackie! As you can see, this is a compact eyeshadow palette that features 7 matte eyeshadow shades. Each shade can be worn alone or paired together for a cool look.

Sephora describes this as a palette that offers bright punchy tones that allow you to choose between bright or subtle eye looks unique to your personal style. As you can see from each eyeshadow shade: from L-R: light brown, rich brown terracotta, bold blue, white, yellow, green, and black. Each of the eyeshadows in the pan are matte. None of the eyeshadows have been given their own personal names and I’ve referred to them as they look in colour.

Below are the swatches against my deep skin tone. In “MAC Cosmetics” language I am an NW45. Each swatch was done on the back of my hand without any primer using a brush.

As you can see, these are soft shadows. The formula is a bit chalky; especially the white eyeshadow shade – my least favourite because it literally looks like white chalk against my skin tone. As for the other shades, I really do like them, especially since they actually show up on my skin. When I use these shadows, I use an eyeshadow primer as well as a white base to help the shadows to not only stick to my eye, but to also get the most impact of each colour, and to have the shadow last a long time without creasing.

Once I do the steps mentioned above, I find that each shade is bold and bright on my eye and rich with colour. I especially like the terracotta, blue, and forest green shades the most. These are perfect for the fall season! I find the light brown shade is perfect for everyday use, especially if you pair it with the black eyeshadow in your eye crease for some slight definition.

Let me know in the comment section below what your favourite fall eyeshadow shade is.
