My Current Beauty Philosophy

Hi beauties! It’s been awhile since my last makeup/beauty-related post. To get back into beauty blogging I though it was only right to give you a bit of insight to where I am when it comes to beauty. Over the past year I’ve been pairing down on a lot of materialistic things in my life with the intent of keeping things that I actually love and use.

This process has definitely had an impact on the way that I approach cosmetics. Currently, I literally use beauty products that I adore; I use products that actually add value to my everyday life. It can be something as simple as a foundation that also acts as a form of sun protection (more on that later), to travel-sized beauty products that are easy to carry around as I transition from work to after-work activities.

The beauty products that I’m currently obsessed with are those that act in a dual function. If it’s a powder that I can use on my eyes as eyeshadow and on my cheeks as blush then I’m all for it! Especially if it’s a neutral tone then I’m definitely here for it! With that being said, over the past few months I’ve been into neutral shades because they are easy to wear and mistake-proof. As you can tell, I’m really into simple no-fuss beauty.

Skincare has been my current obsession over the past few months too, especially since I’ve taken the “minimal” approach when it comes to beauty. It’s been extremely important for me to make sure that I have moisturized skin that is clear of blemishes and scars to the best of my ability. I’m not great at that process yet but I’m trying…baby steps! When it comes to skincare what I’ve enjoyed most is butters and oils including shea butter and olive oil to keep my skin subtle. I’ve also really been into the ever-so-popular vitamin C to help brighten and clear my skin of hyperpigmentation. Recently, I’ve also been using gels specifically for under my eyes because I don’t want wrinkles. Lol

I’m looking forward to sharing some of my new beauty obsessions with you. Let me know in the comment section below what your current favourite beauty product is. Chat soon!
