LOTD – That Pink Dress

Hello fellow fashion lovers! Today’s fashion post is one that I’m excited about! Why? Well simply put because I only paid about $150 CDN for a dress that was originally priced at over $400 CDN. Let me tell you the story.

I was on the hunt for a beautiful dress to wear for a gala event. I knew the event required me to dress up in something that was not only stylish but also creative. With that being said, I had NO CLUE what I was looking for. All I knew was that I needed a dress that didn’t break the bank. I wanted to look good, but I didn’t want to spend a lot of money doing so.

I had known about the event weeks in advance and still made the decision to wait till the last minute to find an outfit. Don’t be like me. Lol! Since I was looking for an outfit at the last minute I knew that whatever was found had to be purchased in person and not online because it would take too long for any online purchase to get to me on time.

Also, I knew that I needed to find a dress that was reasonably priced. With all of that being said, I decided to visit a local trendy boutique here in Toronto, Ontario called The Store on Queen. This is a great clothing store that not only carries trendy clothes, shoes, and accessories, but also provides luxe lines that are hard to come across here in Toronto.

When shopping for an important event I always have a budget in mind so I don’t overspend on an item that will only be worn once. When I got to the store I let the customer service representative know this and she was kind enough to only show me the dresses that were within my price range. How did I end up getting a $400 dress for less than half the price? From the sale rack of course!

A major money saving tip that I’ve used this year that may help you as well is to shop on the sale rack to stay within (or under) budget, while also getting some cool luxe pieces that are overlooked because others may not want to take the time to comb through all of the (sometimes unorganized) items. When shopping for items that are on sale keep in mind that it may take some time, patience and a bit of research. Happy shopping!
