Beauty Budget

A beauty budget. Do you have one? Yes, I dared to go there — asking if you budget your beauty purchases. If you’ve been following me for awhile you’ll know that this year I’m focused on managing my money better — even when it comes to buying my favourite products; beauty items!

In an effort to maintain my low buy beauty purchases I decided to have a portion of my budget dedicated to purchasing beauty items after all of my bills and savings have been addressed. In the past, I had a so called budget but never stuck to it. LoL.

So far I’ve stuck to my budget because it’s reasonable. Major key! Creating a beauty budget that is realistic enough to follow has helped me stay on track monthly, sometimes even being under budget!

Whether your beauty budget is 5-10 % of your overall budget make a plan for your money and stick to it 🙂 See some of my tips below:

• Before creating a beauty budget, be sure to budget for all of your necessary living expenses first! Budget for your living staples (i.e. food, shelter, and clothing) before spending money on nonessentials such as beauty items.
• Before creating a beauty budget, go over the beauty products that you currently have. This will help you to see what beauty items you should actually consider gearing your money towards before spending your hard earned beauty budget.
• Create a small beauty budget first; this will help you to begin gauging your beauty spending habits (doing this will help you get an idea of how much you typically spend on beauty products).
