Lashes Lifted and Tinted

Hi beauties! I’m sharing with you my first experience of having my lashes lifted and tinted.

For my birthday, I wanted to do something new and special when it came to spoiling myself with a beauty treatment so I booked an appointment with Lashes and Lipstick Toronto Beauty Bar for a pamper session #selfcare . As you can see from the before and after photo the difference is evident! And yes, I love my newly improved lashes 🙂

The process: I showed up to the appointment (easy to get to by TTC subway and a couple of minutes walk away from the bus stop), and was greeted by the beautiful and friendly owner Anna. I felt comfortable with Anna as she showed me her beauty studio and started telling be about the process of getting my lashes lifted (curled) and tinted (dyed black). The process took place with me lying down under a warm blanket (a very important detail as today’s temps were at negative 20…thank you Canadian winter. Lol).

My lower lashes were prepped first with some sort of a pad placed onto them to hold them down.

Then my upper lashes were prepped for application to be lifted; as you can see some sort of transparent pad was placed onto my eyelids and my natural lashes were groomed onto them.

Solutions were placed onto my lashes to lift them; one to perm and the other to complete (neutralize) the perming process. Then my lashes were tinted a dark hue.

The results speak for themselves. I love how my lashes turned out and the best part was finding out that they’d look even better once I coat them with mascara since they are already curled.

Aftercare: One of the key ways to help my lashes remain luscious following treatment was to keep my lashes away from water, oil and moisturizers for 24 hours. I’m not going to lie, I didn’t realize how much I enjoy washing my face until I followed this requirement. Lol! I just used a cleansing cloth to clean my face without getting my lashes wet before bed.

Another aftercare suggestion given was to not sleep on my stomach to prevent messing up the curl of my lashes for the first 24 hours of getting them done. This wasn’t an issue for me at all as I don’t sleep on my stomach.

If you’re like me, and enjoy using oils on your lashes as part of your nighttime skincare routine, Anna suggested not to use one of my favouite oils, castor oil, because it may reduce the longevity of the lash lift and tint.

The whole process was painless, comfortable and fast. I loved my results and look forward to getting my lashes done again! If you live in the Toronto of Markham area I highly suggest you check out Lashes and Lipstick Beauty Bar services at www.lashesandlipstick.ca .
