At-home Manicure Essentials

Hi beauties! Happy Monday 🙂 It’s been awhile since I’ve posted a manicure Monday inspired blog post so here we are! I’ll be honest, I haven’t been purchasing any new polishes recently; I’ve been enjoying what I have.

With that being said, I’ve been obsessed with doing my manicures at home mainly because it’s convenient and affordable.  While doing my own nails, I quickly came to realize that there are a few items that you should have for the perfect DIY at home manicure. See the six products below!

  1. Cuticle pusher. Helps to push away any dead skin on, or around your nail plate.
  2. Cuticle clippers. Helps to remove any dead skin around your nail plate. I prefer using two types of clippers; one that is “easy to use” and the other is a professional cutter. If you are not used to removing your cuticles on your own I’d suggest you leave that to the professionals to prevent any injuries!
  3. Nail file.  I prefer to keep my nails trimmed with a nail file as opposed to using a nail cutter because I’m able to have more control with the length and shape of my nails.
  4. Base coat. A base coat nail polish helps your polish to adhere to your nails better, this results in a longer wear time.
  5. Nail polish. Wearing nail polish is like an accessory for my hands! A nail polish shade that never goes out of style for me is a dusty pink colour.
  6. Glossy top coat. I always add a glossy top coat to help seal in the nail polish colour that I’m wearing and add a professional look to my manicure.

Let me know in the comment section below if you also perform your own DIY at-home manicure too!

xo,
