Lena Restaurant

Lena Restaurant is located in the heart of downtown Toronto on 176 Yonge St. It’s an Argentinean restaurant that serves breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner!

This was a restaurant that I’m so happy that I randomly suggested to visit with my friends for Summerlicious 2018. It was a group of us girls who got together for girls lunch. We had such a good time from the moment we entered the restaurant. Before we even finished eating our meals we decided that we would return back!

For my appetizer I had the arugula salad. It was made with shaved fennel, marinated provolone cheese and dressed with a honey vinaigrette. It was such a good salad! Fresh, tangy, with a hint of sweetness thanks to the vinaigrette. The icing on the cake was the cheese; it added a creamy texture that was the perfect complement to this appetizer. I’m still trying to figure out how I can recreate it for myself. LoL!

For my entree I had the smokey grilled chicken thighs set upon a bed of rice and red beans. I just wish I could eat this plate of food again. As I was eating it I was wishing that I could eat it again. Lol! This was comfort food at its finest. Packed with flavour; the rice had the perfect amount of sauce weaved through and just the right amount of red beans to make it absolutely perfect. The chicken thighs…goodness! Let me start by saying there were no bones in them. The chicken was also cooked to perfection; moist, juicy, flavourful goodness. I even ate the skin because it was flavour packed too! If you don’t know what to order from the Summerlicious menu from Lena, order this. You won’t regret it!

Lastly, dessert. Ohhh this baby right here. If I could eat it every week I’d be a very happy woman. I had the Marcona Almond Cake. It was moist, sweet, soft caky goodness. The egg custard was the perfect icing on the cake (pun intended) and the roasted almond and diced pineapples provided a good compliment to the almond cake. It was so good and the perfect end to a wonderful lunch.

I had such a great time with my friends at Lena Restaurant! The service, food and decor was fantastic and I will be going back again.

Let me know in the comment section what you’re favourite part of a 3 course meal is. Personally its always the entree. I love a hearty plate of food.
