If you follow my snapchat (@simplyeseeri) you’ll often see what I get up to during the weekends. This weekend I visited Captain’s Boil restaurant located on 476 Yonge St. in Toronto. As a seafood lover, I’m very happy I listened to a recommendation to visit the restaurant!

As initially implied, Captain’s Boil is a restaurant that specializes in serving fresh seafood ranging from shrimp, crawfish, mussels, clams, lobsters and crabs. They also serve a variety of sides including fries, fried chicken wings, rice, corn, sausages and more!

Upon entering the restaurant, we were seated in a comfortable and spacious booth whose table was covered with a plastic bib, gloves to wear and the menu. I immediately got excited at seeing the gloves as I knew this was going to be a fun eating adventure. I ordered the crawfish seasoned with a medium Cajun sauce and a bucket of fried chicken with Cajun flavoured French fries on the side.

Our order came nice and hot! The crawfish came served to me in a clear plastic bag. I put my gloves on and dug in! On first tasting I was surprised at how flavourful the crawfish was; fresh and packed full of flavour. If you are not a fan of spicy food I’d highly suggest that you do not order your meal with the medium heat seasoning as it will be difficult (basically impossible) for you to eat your meal. I loved how each morsel of crawfish that I ate was well seasoned. Eating utensils are not provided so you literally have to eat everything wearing your gloves so as to not get your hands dirty with the sauce. For a restaurant focused on serving seafood you’d be surprised to know that the fried chicken was one of the best I’ve ever had in a long time and the Cajun French Fries have been added to my favourite French Fries list.  I’d highly suggest you visit a Captain’s Boil restaurant if you come across one.
