MAC Studio Fix Powder

MAC Studio Fix Powder is described as powder and foundation in one that provides a smooth, matte coverage finish that is long-wearing and breathable on the skin. This powder comes in an array of colours to suite multiple skin tones. I wear MAC Studio Fix Powder in NW 45 and it is the perfect match for my skin tone. I find this powder wears well, is easily buildable and works well with other makeup products. MAC Studio Fix Powder can be worn on top of a foundation or on its own. Generally, during the warmer months I wear this product on its own with a primer underneath to control my oily skin.

Depending on how you apply this product, you can expect to see varying results. When I want a light dusting of powder, I tend to use a fluffy brush to apply MAC Studio Fix Powder. Often, I use a kabuki brush for the perfect application; I’m able to get a decent sized amount of product that makes me look made up without looking too made up.
Since I tend to favor a matte foundation look (and add shine with products), I tend to wear this product with a mattifying primer, and liquid foundation that sets to a matte finish. To remove a powdery look, I then spray my face with MAC Fix Plus to bring back a natural looking texture to my face while still keeping it matte. I’ve use this powder in a dry and wet application state and find that depending on the look you are going for it works well either way. If I am going for a natural look I wear this product without apply water or MAC Fix Plus to the brush prior to blending the powder into my skin. If I’m going for a more made-up makeup look I apply the product with a dense brush that has been dampened with water or MAC Fix Plus.

MAC Studio Fix Powder is my go to powder for casual and special occasion events when I want my skin to look flawless. What’s your favourite makeup powder to use?
