I haven’t done a health and fitness post in awhile so what better time than now to share with you that I’m officially on week 2 of my carb cycling program! What is carb cycling you ask?

Quinoa is a complex carbohydrate that is high in protein

In a nutshell, carb cycling is when you rotate the amount of carbohydrates you eat. On some days you’ll incorporate carbohydrates in your diet and on other days you won’t or you’ll add a reduced amount of carbohydrates into a meal. The purpose of carb cycling is to help your body reduce bloating, water weight and fat in conjunction to incorporating regular exercise.

I decided to try this type of nutrition plan because I need a change. I feel as though I haven’t been in control of my meals and so far this has helped me to refocus on healthy eating habits. One of the hardest part of following this nutrition plan so far is only eating complex carbs and not simple carbs such as white bread. I’m also missing junk food… a lot.

I’m on the nutrition program for about 30 days and I look forward to telling you how it went once I completed it!

xo,
