Step out of the comfort zone

Believe it or not 2017 is quickly coming to an end. So far, my 2017 has been all about stepping outside of my comfort zone. Since January of this year I’ve been doing the uncomfortable to get comfortable. Meaning, I’ve been doing things that  I don’t want to do in order to set myself up for a great future. Trust me when I say it hasn’t been easy. Every time I’m about to do something out of my comfort zone I always give myself a little pep talk. It may seem silly but it helps. Doing this makes me focus on my end goal in a way that allows me to be specific of how I plan to achieve it with confidence.

Some tips that I’ve been following consistently this year to reach my short and long term goals are below:

  • Write down your goals. If you don’t write them down they don’t exist! It’s easy to forget what you are thinking of doing so be sure to put pen to paper so it becomes more “real”.
  • Use an agenda. This has been a game-changer for me. I love using my agenda to write my daily, weekly, and monthly to-do’s in order to achieve my goals.
  • Make a plan. You don’t have to have everything figured out but if you start by making a plan, no matter how short, you are then on the right path to begin achieving your goals.
  • Short and long term goals. Not everything can be done in a day. Be sure to recognize what may take time to achieve.
  • Be realistic. You are not superwoman or superman. Be realistic in what you can achieve and the timeframe it will take to do it.
  • Do your research. You can’t smash your goals if you don’t know what needs to be done to achieve them.
  • Ask for help! Not everything can be done on your own. It’s ok to ask for help! Personally, I’m fortunate enough to have the help (and support) of my mentors, family and friends.
  • Remember to be fearless. You are capable of anything you put your mind too!
  • Be consistent. Consistently putting in work is the only way to eventfully see the results you want
  • Be patient. Everything takes time. It’s a process, your time will come with time!

Let me know in the comment section below how your year has been going so far, and what tips you use to stay on track!
