Learn your Body

I decided that this year I wanted to love my body during all stages of my fitness journey. I started working out again a couple of weeks into the New Year rather than at the beginning of the New Year 2016. Extending my holidays feasts was necessary! I needed a break from my normal healthy routine of meals and fitness planning. With that being said, as expected my body lost a lot of muscle definition and tone. At first I was disheartened  to see the reversion of my body, but then I realized that it could present itself as an amazing learning opportunity during my health and fitness journey. I’ve begun to learn my body.

  • What does it like/dislike to eat?
  • What foods settle well into my digestion tract and what doesn’t?
  • How do I feel after I eat healthy versus unhealthy food?
  • How much food should I eat before I feel satisfied?
  • Am I drinking enough water?
  • What exercises does my body respond well to?
  • What is the duration of time I need to feel like I’ve had a good workout?
  • How many hours of sleep do I need to feel at my best?

As you can see from the sample of questions above, I examined my lifestyle and the choices I made towards food to see what my body needs naturally. As a result, I’ve begun my fitness routine again with changes.

So far, the progress I’m noticing  to getting back into a physique that I prefer is going slowly. This time around I want to enjoy and be conscious of my healthy lifestyle choices as opposed to feeling rushed through it in order to look a certain way. Consequently, I do feel as though I’m having a healthier and more fun approach to my healthy lifestyle journey. It’s been an eye opening process so far which I’m enjoying! Updates of my fitness are posted on my snapchat (@simplyeseeri) and I will also be sure to post updated pictures on my Instagram (@simplyeseeri).

How is your healthy lifestyle going so far?
